Sounds Expensive . As you have given no details about the engine such as is it inboard or out board. Or what make it is will be needed to be able to help you! Time to ether get a new engine or take it to a professional engineer. Messing around with something you haven’t a […]
Twin wheels does not require extra crew. Twin wheels were designed for racing. When a boat is heeled it allows the helmsman to be on the high side for a better view ahead. Twin rudders, again when a boat is heeled, are set at an angle when the boat is flat but when the boat […]
Don’t let anyone crush your dreams. Cruising can be done without spending a lot of money. First start out by chartering a number of different sailboats. This will give you the experience and the knowledge you need to choose the correct boat for you. Take baby steps with the process of choosing a boat and […]
Of course, why not? It would have to pass inspection, to sail on public waterways, but I can’t think of any reason, otherwise, that such a ship would be illegal. Now what one does on such a ship could perhaps be interdicted, such as cocaine parties, etc. 🙂 Parenthetically, I would note that I am […]
Manufacturer rates that hull for 5 hp. Be stupid to put a larger heavier motor on it. They claim that it will do 13 mph with a 5 hp. That’s plenty fast enough for that hull shape. If you MUST go faster buy a bigger boat.
Let’s forget about the submarine idea OK. Let’s start off with calmer waters smaller lakes connected by rivers possibly good for fishing or just cruising or water skiing. Here you can learn boat handling, the rules of the road, boating safety, docking and so forth. Perhaps you can start with a 15 foot outboard with […]
If the engine has been designed for automotive usage then the design will not have taken any account of marine usage. So unless that engine just happens to have a mount at the front (such as the 602cc air cooled twin cylinder which Citroen used on their 2CV car and related models) then it won’t […]
I have never seen such a thing .Doesn’t mean it don’t exist. You can also buy a small8 ft or so flat bottom boat to tow behind.
The boat is rated for a 90 hp outboard, but the Dominator is a high-sided, stable hull, so adding some horsepower shouldn’t be a problem. The extra weight is only about 45 lbs, so that won’t be an issue, and you don’t have to push the throttle all the way, do you?. http://www.fi-glass.co.nz/pdf/dominator-…
Whats going on in the marine world why is tins of people getting rid of their yacht ad boats and recreational vehicles?
Find a sheltered bay, where boats of types are moored and employ a diver to put down another mooring for you. As long as its allowed to do so, and theres no environmental concerns for the area. Down side is its at the mercy of the elements, and sadly of thieves too. So for the […]
