The mechanic know how long of trip it is, and if there is a lot of uphill and/or downhill. This will help him properly determine how much your brake pads may or may not ware.its also good to make sure your spare tire is good, and you have tools necessary for a tire change incase you do run over something that punctures your tire. Have fun on your road trip and make sure nobody forgets their sunglasses
